Pilots… Pilots! PILOTS!!! This week, amazing changes are waiting for you. Ships, weapons, modules and modifiers, game modes — we’ve changed everything we could! And what we couldn’t — whatever, that would do. This year is no less significant than the previous one, being the first year since the decade of our beloved cosmic universe, so we went into complete isolation from reality in search of something crazy! 

Ships

General

  • Due to the lack of places for new ships at high ranks, it was decided to turn the tree of ships around. Now the strongest ships are the ships of the first ranks, and the strength of all the others has been proportionally reduced. 
  • Now the trace from the ships’ engines is a physical object that has its mass and is considered an obstacle.
  • It is possible now to land the Pilgrim and Gungnir ships only near the “Parking” sign.

Comment: these days the UMC gets too many complaints about non-compliance with the elementary rules of space traffic by the pilots of the organization, as a consequence, strict control measures were taken.

Albiero

  • The weapons of the Albiero interceptor are now inherited from the destroyer.
  • Comment: we are certain that you will be able to find a way to fight the interceptor with G’Thar’Du.
  • The strength of the shield and the hull of the interceptor are now also inherited from the destroyer.

Comment: something got broken there, but it doesn’t look too critical — the fix is already scheduled for the next day, but for now let’s see how it works. We’ve also found and fixed the inheritance of modules! 

Tornado

  • The model of the ship was turned upside down.

Comment: the ship’s artist noticed that the model had been turned upside down all this time — now the ship looks as it supposed to be.

Tyrant

  • On the ship’s bridge, all lamps were replaced with LED ones. As a result, the energy regeneration has increased by 1 pts/sec.

Weapons

  • Now all weapons consume energy with every shot.

Comment: players too often equipped their ships in such a way that they could easily use the afterburner when they wanted to, being absolutely insensitive to it. And the afterburner has feelings too… 

  • Now, instead of claws, paws are installed on ships.

Comment: this change is aimed at increasing the success of parrying statements about the lack of skill. 

Ion Emitter

  • Removed from the game. 

Comment: this change is aimed at reducing the popularity of the weapon to zero, forcing pilots to take a more careful approach to setting up the ship. 

Scatter Gun, “Eclipse” Launcher

  • Now they ignore resists and shields again.

Modules and modifiers 

“Ikarus-DIV”, “Ikarus-DVII”

  • The “Icarus-DIV” and “Icarus-DVII” modifiers became available for installation on (any) ship.

Comment: meet the newest modifiers you’ve never seen before! These engine modifiers will dramatically increase the maneuverability of your ship, making acceleration in all directions almost instant! In addition, these modifiers will allow the players to use some of the less popular weapons more effectively! 

Cluster torpedo

  • Now flying missiles and warheads can be shot down with the help of “Active missile shield” and “Dome missile shield”. 
  • The “Cluster Torpedo” now deals damage to allied ships as well. 

Comment: these changes are aimed at accelerating the team self-destruction process, which was so much requested by the participants of the SC Balance™. 

Active missile shield, Dome missile shield

  • Now they redirect or shoot down allied missiles, torpedoes and warheads. 

Comment: a reactive change that compensates for a couple of the above-mentioned changes.

Game modes

General

  • The tests on the “Experimental destroyer” boss have finally been completed — now it’s titled “Destroyer”. 

Special operations

  • Now, when assembling a team for a special operation, you need to submit an application for permission to hold a public event to the game administration ten calendar days before it starts. Your application may be rejected if we are not satisfied with your staff.

Open world 

  • Now the achievement “Strikeforce Prometheus” or “Universe Conqueror” is required to enter the open world again.

Miscellaneous

  • The maximum ship speed is limited to 1 m/sec.
  • Weapon damage reduced by 99.9(9)%.
  • Shaking of the camera during hits was removed.
  • Visual effects from the hits were removed.

Comment: after a long and thorough analysis of statistics, we came to the conclusion that the game has become too fast and dynamic, which is why players have no opportunity to enjoy the beauty of our outer space. These changes should allow players to enjoy the beauty without being distracted by battles. 

  • Now the space police will issue fines to pilots who exceeded the permissible speed limit of 800 m/sec. by 20 km/h. 
  • In addition, tinting the cabin’s windshield is now considered a violation — the police promise to issue fines. 
  • Now the ship repairs take up to two hours; the ship cannot be used during this process. 

Comment: this change was implemented in order to increase the realism of the game. 

  • Now you can add a player to the wing without his personal consent. 

Comment: this change is intended to force malicious and irresponsible slackers to participate in team activities. The wing needs you, pilot!

  • Now xenochips will be deducted from the player for each uncompleted task. 

Comment: this change is aimed at encouraging players to complete tasks. The set norm must be fulfilled!

  • The possibility of improving equipment for Galactic standards has been returned. 

Comment: after analyzing the statistics from all players, we decided that you have lots of those, right? 

  • Now the cost of one credit is zero credits.

  • Due to the depletion of sources of resources in the universe, the output of gold production has been reduced to zero.
  • The equipment bonus “Increases experience gain by 3%” has been replaced with “Increases the damage of the main weapon by 10000”.

Modules and modifiers

“Ikarus-DIV”, “Ikarus-DVII”  

  • Modifiers were removed from the game.

Comment: as a result of additional checks by the development team, it was decided to remove these modifiers from the game. It turned out that almost instant acceleration in all directions doesn’t affect the players’ ability to hit the ships too well. It was also revealed that these modifiers made it possible to use absolutely any weapon more effectively, which slightly shifted the balance in an undesirable direction. 

Bug fixes

  • Fixed a bug that caused the Tornado ship model to appear upside down. 

Comment: right, we turned the model upside down again, because before all that it was correct. 

  • Fixed a bug that prevented the game from crashing.

Comment: now crashes of the client occur more often. After additional work, crashes of the client occur all the time.
