Star Conflict Community Edition: general information
This article is about the Star Conflict Community Edition version of the game and its main feature, the ability to run your own local server. The detailed instructions on every aspect of working with the server will be published later.
Local server
A local server that you can launch on your own is a set of applications and databases. Basically, it will provide you with access to a full-fledged Star Conflict game server that you are already familiar with, including all game modes, matchmaking, in-game chat, corporations, achievements, tournaments, the economy system, and other features.
The server can be run in two ways: by pressing a button on the login screen of the game client or by running the necessary databases and applications. Each of the server applications can be configured to meet your needs. Moreover, you can change some of the game data, which we will explain in detail later.
The game client also has a feature that allows you to connect to remote servers; to do so, you’ll need to enter the server’s address and port on the login screen, as well as your username and password.
We’ll cover the other features of the local server and its configuration options later in a separate guide.
Personal accounts
Each server will be a unique instance with its own account database. This means that the progress of your personal account on the official Star Conflict server will not be automatically transferred to each custom server. However, this will allow you to customize your account’s progress as you wish, including unlocking all ships, all equipment, all cosmetic items, and more.
