Federation guard frigate. Guard ships are needed to protect the team from enemy missiles and to bolster its defence. The unique feature of guard ships is the very strong hull and shield, reinforced with a phase shield.
Despite the generally satisfactory reviews of the frigate ‘Raptor mk.II’ as a support vessel, Vanguard still sought a replacement. Advances in the adaptation of civilian spacecraft projects to the needs of the army were noticed by Vanguard leaders. And, after modernization at its shipyards, Vanguard received an excellent support ship, capable of acting deep inside enemy territory.
